Photography Access

Photography is welcome during regular farm hours.

Field admission applies to both photographers and clients entering the flower fields. Children ages five and under receive free admission.

During June and early July, photography sessions may be available by reservation prior to the regular seasonal opening.

Photography Scenery

Explore a variety of natural and curated backdrops throughout the farm, from flower-filled trails to vintage farm treasures.

One of the things photographers love most about Ankley Farms is the variety of scenery available throughout the property. Beyond the flower fields, you'll discover thoughtfully placed photo opportunities that blend naturally into the farm landscape and change throughout the season.

Throughout the trails and fields, you'll find:

  • Antique doors

  • Decorative fences and arches

  • Benches and seating areas

  • Vintage farm trucks

  • Antique tractor

  • Classic farm equipment

  • Seasonal displays and styled setups

  • Rustic farm scenery and open field views

Many of these elements are woven throughout the sunflower and flower field trails, allowing photographers and visitors to capture a variety of looks without ever leaving the farm. Because the farm changes with the seasons, some props and displays may be updated, moved, or refreshed throughout the year, making every visit a little different.

Guidelines

To help preserve the beauty of the farm for everyone:

  • Stay on designated trails

  • Respect flowers and crops

  • Follow field boundaries

  • No drone photography

  • No boudoir photography

  • Portable props are welcome

  • Consult staff before moving farm props

  • Leashed dogs are welcome in sunflower and wildflower fields only

Photographers are responsible for ensuring all members of their party follow farm rules.

Before You Visit

  • Admission is only required for guests entering the flower and sunflower fields.

    Field admission helps support the care and maintenance of the flowers, trails, and photography areas.

    Children ages 5 and under receive free admission.

  • We accept:

    • Cash

    • Credit Cards

    • Apple Pay

    • Venmo

    Some independent family offerings may have different payment methods.

  • No reservations are needed for regular visits, flower field access, or photography during normal business hours.

    Some special events, including Dinners on the Farm and holiday experiences, require advance reservations.

  • This is a working farm, and conditions can vary depending on the weather and season. Paths may be uneven, muddy after rain, or affected by ongoing work.

    We recommend:

    • Comfortable walking shoes or boots

    • Dressing for the weather

    • Planning for sun, wind, and changing conditions

  • Bloom timing changes throughout the season and depends on weather and growing conditions.

    Typical bloom windows include:

    • Michigan Wildflowers: June–September

    • Sunflowers: Late July–August

    • Cut Flowers: Mid-July–Frost

    • Dahlias: August–Frost

  • Please:

    • Stay within designated areas

    • Be mindful of flowers and crops

    • Clean up after your visit

    • Respect private and operational areas of the farm

  • Portable restroom facilities are available throughout the season and during special events. Hand sanitizer is also available nearby.

Parking is available on-site near the farm stand entrance. During busy weekends and special events, overflow parking areas may be opened as needed.

Before You Arrive

Please drive slowly when entering the property and watch carefully for pedestrians, children, and farm equipment. During the season, visitors frequently cross the driveway between the farm stand and flower fields.

Most GPS services navigate directly to the farm without issue.

FAQS

  • Leashed and well-behaved dogs are welcome in the sunflower and wildflower field areas.

    Dogs are not permitted in:

    • Cut flower fields

    • Vegetable fields

    • Other restricted farm areas

    Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets.

  • Many areas are stroller-friendly during dry conditions. Because the farm includes natural terrain, some areas may become more difficult to navigate after rain.

  • Areas near the farm stand and portions of the trails are accessible. However, some flower fields and farm areas contain uneven terrain that may limit accessibility.

    If you have specific accessibility questions, please contact us before your visit.

  • Light rain does not typically close the farm.

    However, severe weather, flooding, or unsafe conditions may impact field access or special events. Any weather-related changes will be shared on our social media channels.

  • No. Drone photography and videography are not permitted on the property.

  • We're always happy to help.
